I've had nothing but excellent service from Dr. Orenstein and the hygienic team at Smileboston in Brookline and recommend them to as many people as possible. I've been afraid of the dentist for almost as long as I can remember, and being a patient at Smileboston has completely changed my idea of what a dental team can be. I'm always greeted by name when I get to the Brookline office, and the admin team does an incredible job of reaching out to explain procedure costs and how to work with your insurance to get the best care you can. The hygienists walk you through each procedure and foster such a calm environment whether you're there for a routine cleaning or a more intensive appointment. I was in a difficult financial situation last year and just recently had a crown on a tooth we've been watching for a while, and felt informed and respected from planning around my finances to the actual procedure itself. Dr. Orenstein is such a caring and respectful dentist and I feel like I'm in great hands at the Smileboston office.
4+ years ago, I spent 20K + on two implants and two crowns on the 4 top front teeth. The gums around the implants began to recede showing the mental of the implants. Nothing was done to prevent the receding during the healing process. It was ignored and my concerns were ignored! The Dentist even cut part of my gum off causing it to recede even more. After the implants were placed, I went to another Dentist to look at the work and offer suggestions. They were shocked and said to go back and have the Dentist fix the gums. I went back and the Dentist tried to place gum into the receding area "Complimentary" but it failed. I left hoping that there wouldn't be any future problems with the teeth and I would just have to live with the damaged gums and bizarre looking implants. No such luck!
Love love love the team over at Smile Boston. Andrew upfront, to Leah and Dr. Orenstein... I feel like I'm visiting my friends. I recommend them to every person looking for a dentist or moving to Boston and in need, their patient experience is top notch.
A couple of weeks ago, I went for a cleaning and was told the top two front crowns have cavities and need replacements. They cost $ 1,300 each. I have crowns that are over 20 years old and have had no problems. The top 4 front teeth are the most important part of a persons smile. The cost, stress and disappointment in the dental work that was performed has been overwhelming. Every-time I brush my teeth, I see the freakish sight of cut into rising gums, metal and extra large implanted teeth!
Dr Spitz is a wonderul and gentle docter .His staff is very friendly and helpful. My only complaint is that he does not eccept proletariate insurances. He is so kind to the lions and other animals but no kindness to his hundreds of years old patients of many years.
Had my first visit today, and I can honestly now say I love my dentist! Dr Spitz and his whole team are phenomenal! They ask what kind of music you like to listen to and ACTUALLY PLAY IT! They made me feel like they wanted to get to know me as a person, not just as a patient, and it made the visit actually enjoyable! For the first time EVER I'm actually looking forward to my next cleaning!
